If you decide that you want to try a steal of home with your team sometime, you need to make sure the players on your team know the signal for it, as you will not want the batter to swing and get a piece of the pitch – and as you will not want a right-handed batter standing in the way of the slide!
Once you have made sure your team knows the signal, you should wait until a game when a left-handed pitcher is pitching, as this will put the pitcher’s back to the runner at first base, and a situation when you have a really speedy runner at third base. It is best if you have a right-handed batter at the plate, as they will also shield the catcher’s view of the runner moving down the base paths toward home – and in this way, your runner will be much more likely to score.
If you make sure to wait until these elements all line up – a fast runner at third, a left-handed pitcher, and a right-handed hitter at the plate – there are two more things you need in order to test the steal of home: you will need there to be two outs, as this will limit the ways in which you can score and will therefore make the risk of a steal of home more worth it, and you will need the pitcher to be in the windup instead of in the stretch.

Firstly, realize that this is not a life-or-death situation, and that it is merely a baseball game (in which neither you nor the fan of the other team is a participant!). If you happen to find yourself near a fan from the opposing team who is starting to get nasty with the comments they are making, extricate yourself from the conversation, as it is not worth getting into a fight over two baseball teams that neither of you actually play for
As you cheer your team on and converse with the fans of the opposing team who are sitting around you, you should keep in mind that these other fans paid good money for their seats, just as you did, and they probably came out to the game for the same reason you did as well – to have a relaxing evening.
The most enjoyable baseball games are those during which fans from opposing sides can razz one another during the game, “talking trash” back and forth, but after which the fans from both sides can shake hands and tell one another how much fun they had. You should easily be able to clear up your poison ivy in one or two weeks by following these steps, but if the problem becomes unbearable (and if you cannot refuse the urge to itch), visit your doctor, and allow him to prescribe something stronger!
